RI_USO, fragments and materials that acquire a brand new sense and history in the process of changing themselves into everyday life art objects. In the current economic and social scenery, this initiative based on creativity and innovation, remarks the importance of recycling, in clear contrast to the tendency of products and matters waste that characterizes goods consumption, and aims to promote a fully environmental sustainability, together with the ethic and social responsibility of a company. Thanks to the connection involving art, design and industry, a new reality is raising, the result of a strict collaboration between RI_USO and Alcar, a firm-based and dynamic company that has worked in the mechanical engineering field since more than fifty years, employing advanced technologies while investing in research and development; a reference point for the ‘made in Italy’ landscape. Unused parts, discarded from Alcar’s industrial production, such as buckets and swarfs, are reused in order to create unique handiworks of great plasticity and strong attitude, produced in unlimited samples. A Soft and curvy texture, composes the irony modules of chaise longues, sits, shelves, floor and desk lamps, all projected to become contemporary objects, able to redefine the living spaces through their authentic design and astonishing aesthetics. Original forms are given rebirth, declaring the importance of transformation and renewal.

RI_USO is a creative project, born inside an industrial lab, from the collaboration between Bruna Taurino, concept designer Giovanni Lamorgese and Alcar - a well – established mechanical engineering firm, based in Southern Italy – thanks to their passion for art, contemporary design and environment’s protection. Alcar is strongly devoted to issues like sustainability and company social responsibility and the current economic crisis scenery, represents a unique opportunity to create an innovative industrial design product while, at the same time, respecting the surrounding environment. Alcar’s know-how, manual skills, research and development, are just a few of Ri_Uso’s highlights, but they also symbolize the very essence of this company: thinking and making a better future. Alcar The Ri_Uso idea comes from the passion for art and design and also from the need to recover and reuse materials we normally don’t give a great value, as they are considered useless waste, but instead they keep a huge potential. Since the met with concept designer Giovanni Lamorgese, the project became the fulfillment of a way of thinking, a lifestyle, a philosophy. The extreme synthesis between a common path, equal affinities and a shared dream that now turns into reality. Bruna Taurino Curvy shapes of classic inspiration, Ri_Uso contemporary objects are light and soft in their appearance; the matter becomes transparent, voiding the texture weight.
